New Years Eve – 2014

The year draws to a close,
Days, they fuzz so fast,
A misty veil ‘tween then and now,
A future from the past.

So here’s to all the year has brought,
Thoughts, experiences, life,
Maybe, in the year to come,
A little less of strife?

Time in measurement,
Oh, so strange,
A moment, here, to pass,
And passing so, in blink of eye,
Another year has passed.

I wish all well for the year to come,
May it bring all you require,
In silent moments, know yourself,
Your secrets and desires.

And in this knowledge, fully known,
A growth of sorts takes place,
And in this moment, year to pass,
Be filled with peace and grace.

Your soul knows where it’s heading,
Drives you forward still,
In every situation,
Fulfilling Divine Will,

Just let it be….

Love’s Place

Love holds me tight
In her warm embrace,
My Universe lights up,
Milky ways of ships and stars
Pass me by,
Wave,
As if to an old friend,
Then slip quietly on their way.

It is warm and safe in love’s embrace,
For a moment,
This moment,
All we have
Before life moves us on
To we know not what,

Yet with the knowledge of this place
All others can be managed, accepted,
Experiences felt and learnt.

This safe place
Dims all others in it’s light
And moves us through
Life’s eternal path,
Moths to flame,
Fish to water,
Me to love’s place.

Writing Success

It’s amazing when you’re writing,
How people know it’s you,
Responding to the personal
Rather than things you thought you knew.

When I look back at all the stats
Technology now provides,
The most popular of all I’ve written
Are where my experience resides.

It seems that writing, as with life,
Has much more of an effect,
When we’re speaking from our hearts
Of the moments that we’ve met.

So, what have you learned on this day?
Can you share it with those who know?
For I have learnt to write from my life,
Seems the very best way to go!

I’m Listening

I shared my thoughts,
Somewhat disguised,
In verse or rhymes
Or words surprised.

Dilemmas face us everyday,
Choices what to do or say,
Share yours with me,
I listen well,
And maybe, as we will not dwell,
Our problems wrenching heart and soul
Will simply, quietly, up and go.

Would it were so easy!

My ears now open, mind awake
I quietly on your hearts await…

Floods of Life

Men flew through shadows deep,
Raucous birds a-calling,
Rivers ran through fields asleep
Drowning in their falling.

Houses lost, homes all gone,
Buildings washed away,
Will we be able to survive
The rains that fell that day?

People tell of worse,
When lands were all a-flood,
So many moons ago,
Yet no-one mentions blood.

Blood of ages, blood of sin,
Blood that’s carried through,
From year to year, man to man,
Red, dark red and blue.

So light the torches, bring the flame,
Rekindle fires and lamp.
Bring on the heat, bring on the light,
And banish all the damp.

And those of us now sitting dry,
Look down upon the mess,
But for the Grace of God say you,
The death, the pain, the stress.

Begin again, take the new,
See this as favour done,
For out of ashless comfort zones,
Arises new life won.

Large of eyes, pale of face,
Looking all around,
Bewildered by this chance of fate,
Standing on new ground.

Events of life, controlled or not,
Change us deep within,
And carry portents for the rest,
“Let go of all your whims!”

Life is transient, belongings more,
As stewardship is given,
Ownership is obsolete,
As soul’s experience now driven.

This time, this place, this precious now,
To which we all belong,
Will have it’s way, give us life,
And take us all along.

Another Day

Another day expired,
Moments lived and died,
Fleeting thoughts, prophecies,
Deepful truth, lies.

Feeling more than words can say,
Saying more than feel,
Taking on to stretch the soul,
Discarding all unreal.

Past gone, present here,
Future lies awaiting,
‘Carpe Diem’ lies the land,
Breathing, quiet, abating.

My Dilemma

Poetry, the speech of Kings,
Royalty of words,
Rhyming Couplets, Haiku stand
Reversed in sonnets,
Lyrics true,
Blank or free,
Which speak to you?

Therein lies my dilemma
To speak it plain in prose or verse
To write it short or narrate it long
To pour my heart with songs unsung
Let music flow as fingers drum
Rejoin the world of business folks
Live life as they see fit
With rules so fixed
To break or hide
To straddle the great divide
Or care for bodies needing touch
And souls and minds requiring much

My heart’s afire,
My torment,
How do I express
My firmament?
