On Becoming A Hermit

On Becoming A Hermit - dec 17 2017-Astronomers-Reveal-the-Dizzying-Spin-of-the-Milky-Way_s-Halo

Amongst the shades
And nets
Of impropriety
I settled,
Nesting quietly,
Circling the space,
Creating comfort,
Building walls for an
Illusion of Protection,
Keeping them out,
Keeping me in,
Zones of Perfect me.

Life left me alone.

Just a thought on the dangers of clinging to our comfort zones!!

Nothing But Love

Nothing But Love - dec 10 2017 - galaxy NGC 4490 - hubble

It took me a while
To realise how,
The ‘what’ and the ‘if’,
The ‘should haves’ of now.

It finally dawned,
I let the past go,
Importance of ‘then’,
Now infinitely low.

Come with me, we’ll climb
To heights far above,
Joy in the moment,
And nothing but love.

Riders In The Night

Riders in the Night - Dec 3 2017 - Hubble views remnants of long dead star

Riding high through waves of time
Bristling as they came
Hoof beats, hardest, black as night
Beating out their name

Out to kill, out to maim,
Hate and passion deep,
Faster, faster, down they bore,
Seeking blood to reap.

Clash of iron, ring of steel,
Bodies falling ’round,
Arcing maces, swinging swords,
Lances upwards bound.

Riderless horses carry on,
Riders lying spent,
Little left to claim or hate,
Following death’s vent.

Eternity In A Moment

Eternity In A Moment - Nov 19 2017 - credit to morguefile-hotblackfile8891347731372

Tumultuous skies rained
On soft feathers.

Stretching the whisper of touches
He reached for her.
She could not see through the veil
Yet felt the touch,
Leaned her head to the breeze,
Aching for more.

Responding to the need,
Creation paused.

He withdrew his hand, thunder rolled,
Clouds broke apart,
Tear soaked feathers lifted, waved,
Sunrays poured through,
Stroking face, smoothing fears,
Soothing sorrow.

Eternal memory,
Moment in time.

Months Pass

Months Pass - Nov 5 2017 - NGC 1569 - Hubble

One whole month of pain,
Another full of pleasure,
Tell me how to take,
A full month’s measure.

My life’s appeared,
One month at a time,
Given me space,
To find my own rhyme.

Which month is the worse?
I really can’t say,
I’ve learned now to live it
Day by bless’d day.

Each one bringing
Its own special pause,
Creating a wake
In its own unique course,

Building a life
Of hope and despair,
Allowing me moments
To find myself there,

If I but look …
