Finding My Way

Finding My Way - July 18 2016

****

I found myself in times gone by,
Sinking low then rising high,
Riding waves, some low, some steep,
Floating tides, experiences deep,
Taken to the fullest seen,
My life’s perspective, clear and clean,
Then clouded by bright thoughts around,
Of others perceptions, circling sounds,
Losing grip on my own path,
Led astray by thoughts and tasks,
Other people’s sense, idea,
Of my perception, why I’m here.

Taking breath and holding course,
Now finding my way back to source.

Dark To Light

****

There’s a darker ring,
If we all give in,
Chase a world we think others see.

There’s a lighter side,
If we turn aside,
See our light now shining free.

But what fun is that,
If we can’t extract,
The pleasure and the pain,

Of living in
This body bin,
Coming back time and again?

Part lesson here,
Another there,
Taking lifetimes now to learn

The part we chose,
From heart exposed,
The experiences we yearn.

Emotions bit,
The pleasure pit,
The pleasure and the pain.

We chose each moment,
To our detriment,
And took the trip again.

There soon will be
No darker lee
With which to play this pace,

Light is firing,
Fast vibrating,
Finished with our race.

And thus I raise
My glass in praise
To the present and the past.

Life is changing,
Seeking, ranging,
Days of nights can’t last.

So rise up now,
Grasp the Wow,
Your soul, your life, yourself.

Your light unfurled
Upon the world
Redefines its wealth.

In gratitude
Find fortitude,
A Universe of joy,

And lovingly,
And caringly,
Share with woman, man, girl, boy.

Earth

****

Sparked by
The Light of the Universe,
Enraptured by
The Love of Being,
Captured by
The Lure of Life,
Earth fulfils her purpose,
Bounteously,
Beautifully,
Boundlessly.

In silent sways and circles,
She pursues purpose,
Immune to attempted intervention,
Indifferent to proposed diversions,
Impartial to destructive intention,
Impassive to flagrant whims,

Inviolate?
Indefatigable?

She simply carries on.

It never fails me

When all is told
Feeling brave
Acting bold
Believing life
Can be won
By the thrust of a knife
Or the shot of a gun

Swaggering forward
I take my place
At the front of the group
The head of the race

Look into eyes
Filled with hate not fear
A laugh from behind
A howl, a jeer

The drop to the knees
A move to behind
Squeeze of the trigger
Another win defined

Loving You

Sweetly, softly, call my name,
I will always come,
Hold you in your darkest hours,
Be there when you need someone.

For you are beautiful to me,
Soul shining forth, sword held aloft,
Fair of sight, clear to see,
Cutting through the veil and sloth.

Offering change to those you meet,
You step into your day,
A different way the morn to greet,
Showing how to live another way.

Following need of other’s path,
Giving all you can,
Helping where the need for help,
Outweighs the ways of man.

Leading by example,
Showing Universal truth,
From beneath the veils of illusion,
You bring your spirit forth.

Soft and gentle when it needs,
Tender, caring, fun.
Childlike in your actions,
Loving each and everyone.

And when you need the balance,
Human part becoming frail,
I’ll swiftly move beside you,
Hold, support your tale.

And in so doing find mine,
The gift I give the world,
Holding, supporting, loving,
My spirit blows unfurled.

Mornings Call

cropped-aloe-sunrise-014-e1403463057751.jpg

I awoke before the birds today,
Heard the chorus rise,
Felt the silent morning peace,
Before the rush of daily lives.

Thought it strange,
The pace we build,
To prove our place on earth.

Found it weird,
The thought of this,
To prove our daily worth.

As people rise to start their day,
Yawn, stretch, put coffee on,
How sad to feel their loss of way,
By following habit long.

For what else to do when nothing calls,
Except the call unheard?
But follow habits long ingrained,
Like the chorus of the bird.

Of course, we have the choice,
Could listen to that call,
Follow where the day just leads,
And into life just fall.

Rain, Life

Rain came
Carried me away in buckets of fire, snow and ice
Labelled me victorious
Slushed me with more
Washed me with less
Hid parts of me
Exposed others
Took the wind from my lungs
And lashed the coast of my being
In hurricane like breezes
Made from my own breath
Howling from within
Demanding change
A difference
Anything but this

Yet this is the reason I am here
And the solace my soul seeks

To deny it
Denies life

Life will not be denied

The Moments Of The Soul

water drop fantasy

I seek no explanations,
I do not wish to find
The secrets of the Universe
Within the confines of my mind.

And yet I yearn to know much more,
To understand what I now don’t,
Realising, as I think it through,
I probably, really, won’t.

The human part of me races forth,
Driving to fulfill its goal,
Never understanding or listening
To the reasons of my soul.

So I find myself in places wondering
‘How the heck did I get here?’
Trying to reassess
Purpose, reason, fear.

Beginning now to get it,
Life’s not about the goal
But the moments in the journey,
The moments of the soul.

Disabled? Handicapped?

20140525_135853

It’s difficult to be “handicapped” or “disabled” or so labelled.
It’s easy to give in and to feel that you’re unable.
The sticker on your car or the card that’s in your purse,
It only says you’re different – nothing more and nothing worse.

We’re still the same old person, on the inside, deep down deep,
We’ve still the same desires, wishes, memories to keep,
We may have changed our outside look, our appearance or our style,
But all that’s coming out is what was hidden all the while.

By all the “tragic” happenings we’ve lived through and expressed,
We can use these opportunities to find our happiness,
For we all decide our attitude, our success in what we do,
By the way we think about it as we carry feeling through.

So, no matter what your history and no matter what your path,
We all search for our own truth in a smile and in a laugh,
And we all know when we’ve found it, when we’ve let go what’s held so tight,
And find within our inner selves, the stillness and the light.

So, let your inside out in the way you only can,
Release the inner woman or the man,
Be still when life requires it, be louder when you need,
And express the joy of living in your thought and in your deed.
