Dark To Light

****

There’s a darker ring,
If we all give in,
Chase a world we think others see.

There’s a lighter side,
If we turn aside,
See our light now shining free.

But what fun is that,
If we can’t extract,
The pleasure and the pain,

Of living in
This body bin,
Coming back time and again?

Part lesson here,
Another there,
Taking lifetimes now to learn

The part we chose,
From heart exposed,
The experiences we yearn.

Emotions bit,
The pleasure pit,
The pleasure and the pain.

We chose each moment,
To our detriment,
And took the trip again.

There soon will be
No darker lee
With which to play this pace,

Light is firing,
Fast vibrating,
Finished with our race.

And thus I raise
My glass in praise
To the present and the past.

Life is changing,
Seeking, ranging,
Days of nights can’t last.

So rise up now,
Grasp the Wow,
Your soul, your life, yourself.

Your light unfurled
Upon the world
Redefines its wealth.

In gratitude
Find fortitude,
A Universe of joy,

And lovingly,
And caringly,
Share with woman, man, girl, boy.

The Collapse of a Moment – NaPoWriMo Day 9 (off prompt)

chandra views

In the moment of our quietest coming together
Lay the seeds of our destruction,
The downfall of emotions came fast,
Words meant little as they tripped from tired tongues,
Fired by passionate flames.

The world fell apart.

Perspectives ruined perceptions,
Reducing Illusion to Reality,
Exposing truth not seen before,
Nor ever again.

Hope lies destroyed.

Emotions Ride

Temperatures soar
Tempers roar
Anger floors the meek

Storms roll in
Cool the spin
Twist rage hollow and bleak

Rain falls fast
Icy blast
Roads slide slick and sleek

Run for cover
Run for home
For loved ones search and seek

What raised the ire
It now transpires
Was nothing more than freak

And given the chance
We change the dance
How fickle our mystique!

Music – NaPoWriMo Day 14

Exploding over me,
Pounding through my body,
Cell upon cell reacting,
Responding, vibrating, falling,
Only to rise with the next wave,
All emotions rapidly firing,
A limbic weapon on automatic,
Brain feeling overwhelmed,
Rocking with the pace and the rhythm,
I removed my fingers from the keys,
My feet from the pedals.

The silence was extreme, profound,
And peace reigned where there had been only sound.
Beethoven would have been proud!
I slumped then stood and bowed to the crowd,
The cat stretched and meowed,
The dog lifted her head, ears flopping,
I walked away, off to do shopping.
