Potluck – Poetry 201 – weekend

Potluck :
This weekend ‘s assignment, should you choose to accept it (ha ha!) is to read more poetry and post our favourite lines, verses, poets and explain why.  So (being as this tape may self-destruct in 20 seconds…), here’s to it! :
So many many great poems and poets to choose from – both past and present, and many here on WordPress! I am really enjoying, and grateful for and to, the writers this course has, and is, introducing me to! Plus all the friends and great writers I have met over the last year.
However, the first lines that always come to my mind, whenever poetry is mentioned, are these from William Blake’s ‘Auguries of Innocence’ :
“To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour. ”

Simply for the memories.
