The Hungry and The Hunted – Poetry 201- Day 4

………….He bears the groan,
……….Hears the moan,
…………….Carries on regardless.
………………..Taking life slowly with
…………………..Patience, understanding, and
…………………….Skill.
………………….Having trapped the beast,
………………..Caught him fast,
………………Nowhere left for it to run, it
…………….Gasps.
……………….He severs vessels, slow
……………………To leak,
………………………..Stands back to watch his spectacular
……………………………..Feat.
………………………………..It roars again, it’s
…………………………………..Dying throes,
…………………………………….With blood running thick,
……………………………………….Like streams of molten
…………………………………………Lava.
……………………………………..A few gurgles, a flick of
…………………………………A paw and
……………………………..It is over.
…………………………..The Hunter grins, throws
…………………………Head back, howls his
……………………….Delight.
………………………….Demands a photo of
…………………………….The sight.
………………………………Labels his success,
…………………………………Boasts to all.
……………………………………One wonders,
………………………………………Who is the real
…………………………………….Animal
…………………………………..Here?
