So many different stories
Flashing through my head,
So many different ways
To say what must be said.
We all listen differently,
From our history and our lives,
Which makes it kind of difficult
When we want to stylize.
Who carries dictionaries with them?
Who checks what’s right and nice?
And is it then just pleasant,
Or really quite precise?
And if you’re walking quietly,
Are you stepping out with care?
Or simply with your mouth closed
And a pensive, thoughtful air?
Come, share with me the writers joy,
Put down what you will say,
Then hope and pray your reader,
Will interpret it that way.
